History of TCF Summit
Nine Years of Connection, Education, and Community
Since 2017, the TCF Summit has grown from 30+ attendees in Austin to a nationally recognized event bringing together testicular cancer survivors, caregivers, and medical experts for a transformative weekend of shared experiences, education, and advocacy.
The Inaugural Summit
TCF Summit was born in Austin with over 30 attendees, establishing the core format and themes including survivor stories, breakout sessions, and medical education. Featured WWE Superstar Mark Henry as celebrity speaker.
Building the Foundation
Continued the successful format with strong focus on the history of testicular cancer and the young adult cancer movement. Featured Dr. Lawrence Einhorn, pioneer of platinum-based chemotherapy.
Expanding Engagement
Increased emphasis on advocacy and media engagement. Introduced interactive social events including axe throwing and the PRTRAIT photo activation with Dear World.
Adapting to Change
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, TCF created a dedicated virtual conference focusing on topics like isolation, sexuality, and intimacy—ensuring the community stayed connected during challenging times.
Vegas Era Begins
The summit found its new home in Las Vegas, establishing it as the permanent host city. Incorporated hybrid model with virtual presentations and greater emphasis on mental health and trauma.
Deepening Community
Continued at Four Seasons Las Vegas with sustained focus on mental health. Expanded the PRTRAIT photo activation and introduced new networking opportunities for attendees.
Trauma & Survivorship
Focused on trauma and survivorship with keynote session by Dr. Dan Shapiro (PhD, MD, cancer survivor, and author). Featured magic show for evening entertainment and continued building the Vegas tradition.
Expanding Horizons
Introduced structured Friday activities (golf, content creation) and deeper dives into specific medical topics like hormonal health, nutrition, wellness, and epidemiology. The summit continues to evolve while honoring its roots.
